1. Subscriptions
a. The subscription year runs
from 1st January to 31st
December inclusive.
b. Subscriptions must be paid in
full by 31st January in any
year.
c. Members are not permitted to
fly unless their subscription is
paid in full.
d. Any member whose annual
subscription is unpaid by 31st
January in any year ceases to be
a member of the club and
forfeits all rights in and
claims upon the club and its
property.
e. New members must pay a
joining fee as determined by the
committee.
2. Suspension of membership
a. Should a member satisfy the
committee that because of
sickness, want of employment, or
other satisfactory reason it is
inappropriate for him/her to pay
the annual subscription
according to the Rules, the
committee may at their
discretion temporarily suspend
membership. If the committee
agree to temporarily suspend
membership the member concerned
shall not be entitled to fly or
enjoy the facilities of the club
for the period of the
suspension.
b. Only those members who have
been full members for a minimum
of two years shall be entitled
to make application under this
rule.
c. Requests for consideration
under this rule must be made in
writing and submitted to the
Secretary before the last date
on which subscriptions are due.
3. BMFA
Membership of the BMFA is
compulsory for all members and
anyone involved with model start
up or assistance.
4. Misconduct
a. A member may be subject to
disciplinary action, including
expulsion from the club, if
his/her conduct is in the
opinion of the committee
injurious to the character of
the club or objectionable in any
respect. Examples of such
conduct include, leaving litter,
damaging crops or fences,
leaving gates open, being
discourteous to or annoying the
landlord or other members, or
otherwise acting contrary to the
interests of the club.
b. Disciplinary procedure will
be in accordance with the Club
Constitution.
5. Press or Media
Members must not communicate
with the Press or media on any
matter relating to the business
or interests of the club without
prior approval from the
Secretary.
6. Use of club machinery,
equipment and facilities
Club machinery, and any
other equipment or facility as
determined by the committee,
shall only be used by members
who have received suitable
training in the use of the
equipment, machinery or
facility.
7. Car parking at the flying
field
Cars must be parked in the
designated places only. Three
bays are reserved for disabled
members only. Members must
not park in the pits area except
for the purposes of loading and
unloading.
8. Guest flyers
Guest flyers may only be
authorised by the club chairman
or failing him the vice
chairman.
9. First Time Inexperienced
Flyer
Club indemnity is extended to
cover first time visitors to the
club who have no previous
experience but are seeking to
try out model flying prior to
joining the BMFA and the club.
Indemnity under this first time
inexperienced flyer provision
will only be in place when
flights are being totally
organised and supervised by a
suitable club member approved by
the club committee. The limit of
this indemnity is 3 separate day
visits for any single
inexperienced flyer.
